The Winston Hills Cricket Club was established in 1978 to play junior and senior Cricket in competitions in the Parramatta district.
Max Ruddock Reserve has been the base of our operations since the very beginning where we still train and play to this very day.
In 1983 WHCC merged with the Lavalla Bowling Club’s Cricket Club which swelled the ranks of the senior part of the club. Lavalla was sold in 1988, two of the nets at Max Ruddock Reserve are the former Lavalla nets relocated and still used today.
After the sale of Lavalla a proportion of the remaining funds was earmarked for community sport which the Winston Hills Sports Club (or WHSC for short) managed on behalf of four sporting auxiliaries of which Cricket was one.
The WHSC dissolved in 2021 and Cricket’s share of the Lavalla funds came under our direct control when WHCC became an incorporated body. WHCC became WHCC Incorporated in May 2022 and is a well funded, strongly managed and independent club focussing on growing Cricket in the Winston Hills area.
WHCC still enters teams in the Parramatta district and in recent years added junior girls teams and has benefited greatly from the various introduction to Cricket programmes run over the last decade or so.
